DIANDRA
Diandra is a Canadian born, independent perfumer and creative director based in Los Angeles. Her approach to scent is shaped by her multidisciplinary background in narrative storytelling, experiential projects, brand development and marketing, and passion for visual and linguistic communication. A love and deep connection to nature and hidden worlds informs her approach to fragrance and relationship to materials, with her practice rooted strongly in creative process and exploration. She approaches scent as language translating feeling, color, texture, image and sound to connect with the world around her and create a new dialogue for clients and collaborators.
A lifelong obsession with how things smell and a scent-first experience of the world around her lead to years of independent interest and research before pursuing fragrance education at the Institute of Art and Olfaction and Perfumer’s Studio where she met and instantly connected with Chad Hodge. The two cofounded TALE Parfum and began a new chapter together, combining their passion for storytelling, scent and the slightly unusual.
Drawing inspiration from her background in fashion and studies in creative writing and alchemical interpretations in medieval and renaissance literature, Diandra continues to remain a student dedicated to independent learning in the craft of fragrance. She finds great joy and satisfaction in pursuing both chemistry and artistry in formulation.
THE WOMAN
Diandra lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two very large dogs. When not defining The Macllan as a luxury spirit, she spends her time in her fragrance studio in East LA formulating sensory worlds. She doesn’t love talking about herself in the third person.
